"In less than four weeks, Scott and Giuseppe have managed to completely change my perspective of ballet and improve my technique faster than it has ever improved before.  I've felt a sort of transformation since my arrival, both as a person and as a dancer.  They've been critical not only with detail of mechanics, but quality of movement.  The many amazing dancers that have emerged under Scott and Giuseppe confirm that the training here is truly worthwhile.  I look forward to my training everyday."

"I wasn't getting the quality of training - in New York or Canada - that I'd gotten here... I could see I wasn't improving as fast. Even my roommates, when I told them my teacher was Giuseppe Canale, said, '...no wonder you're so good.'"

"I paid attention to Eddie (Stark, also an NEAD student at NBS (the National Ballet School of Canada) because he was the best dancer there... coming here (to NEAD) has definitely been worth it. I've improved a ridiculous amount. If you want to be a classical dancer, these guys (Canale and Heinrich) have everything... technique, creativity, commitment, musicality..."

She's never had a dance class outside of her hometown of Oscoda, but you'd never convince the experts of that.

People from the big ballet companies in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Toronto take one look at Maggie Stalker and ask the same thing: Oh my God. Where did she come from?..."

"What brought me out here from Los Angeles, CA was simply, Giuseppe... I wanted to come out here and have him coach me (for the Youth America Grand Prix ballet competition)."

"When I turn on the music and that familiar feeling swells up inside of me, I realize why I am doing this. I'm doing this because I love ballet. Thank you (Giuseppe and Scott) for being wonderful teachers. After all, you're the ones who put that wonderful feeling there."

Parents:

"The Technical training as well as the support and encouragement that Chloe received from Giuseppe has been unparalleled in her dance studies to date. From her first classes with him at ABT Detroit to private coaching sessions at NEAD for Youth America Grand Prix, Chloe has made great advances as a result of her training with Giuseppe. His attention to detail, as well as his ability to get Chloe to connect more deeply with choreography on an artistic level were nothing short of amazing! Giuseppe enthusiastically shares with his students his many years of professional dance experience, along with a sincere spirit of helping each individual dancer succeed in their chosen path. What a rare treasure Oscoda, Michigan has in Giuseppe Canale!"

"Guiseppe Canale is a rare combination of a world-class dancer and an exceptional teacher. Exceedingly patient, kind, but with exacting standards, he provides the individualized attention and corrections that push each dancer to a new level of ability. We've experienced many instructors over the years, including in big name schools; Guiseppe is simply the best."

"All that the two of us as parents have ever wanted for each of our children is for them to find that elusive marriage of talent, passion, learned ability, and productive developmental instruction and opportunity in whatever professional pursuit they choose - be it academic, artistic, or athletic. Our eldest daughter Juliana seems to have found that in ballet. This is in no small part due to Giuseppe (Canale) and Scott (Heinrich). The instruction she receives at NEAD is of such quality and so multi-faceted that Oscoda Michigan can now count itself as a member of an elite universe of cities around the globe - New York, NY; Washington, D.C.; London, England, among others - places where willing students can learn the performing art form of ballet at its highest level. We as a family feel blessed that our daughter Juliana has this unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

"We were looking for excellent ballet training for our two oldest daughters. We have found it here at Northeast Academy of Dance. Both girls have taken private lessons with Giuseppe and Scott. We have found them to be amazing teachers - they bring out the very best in every student through a combination of understanding, patience, and passion for the art of dance. My eldest had they opportunity to attend the Northeast Academy of Dance Summer Intensive program this summer. I can honestly say she improved more in two weeks in Oscoda than she did in six weeks at the other program she attended. I am very thankful that we have found NEAD - our daughters have learned not only better ballet technique, but also have gained an appreciation of dance as a performing art that they will carry with them for life."

Northeast Michigan Arts Council:

"Several years ago I had the pleasure of attending a public performance of the Northeast Academy of Dance in Oscoda, Michigan and came away reeling from the experience; what a surprising and delightful evening it was.

The caliber of the NEAD dancers and their choreography was extraordinary.  The professionalism of the production from the brilliant choreography and costumes, to sets and lighting, choice of music and printed programs was reminiscent of professional dance performances I attended while growing up in the Los Angeles area."
