What Students Had to Say About Our 2008 Intensive...

"I attended two Summer Dance Intensives in 2008. I learned more in two weeks of study with Scott and Giuseppe than I did from six weeks of study at my other intensive. The classes were small, challenging, and fun. I was able to take a couple of private ballet lessons in addition to my daily classes at NEAD to help me work on my technique. My family vacationed in Oscoda while I danced, and we all enjoyed the town and the beaches. Where else can you go to get world-class training and hit the beach the same day? I am so glad I came here - I am looking forward to coming back in 2009."

- Allison Armfield, age 14, Michigan

2009 August Summer Dance Intensive

Are you looking for an August Summer Dance Intensive to round out your Summer 2009 training? Northeast Academy of Dance in Oscoda, Michigan has just the right training opportunity for you. We recognize that many students have a little extra time in August, and want to refine their skills before returning to their home studios for the new dance year.

Mr. Giuseppe Canale and Mr. Scott Heinrich, co-directors for The Northeast Academy of Dance, generally hold a two-week summer intensive program including instruction in classical ballet technique, jazz, modern, pilates, yoga and original choreography. Some students choose to schedule private instruction during the original choreography to help meet their training needs, while others who learn the choreography may be invited to participate with our regular students in our annual performances.

The Summer Intensive is typically held during the first two weeks in August in the state-of-the-art facility built by The Northeast Academy of Dance in Oscoda, Michigan. Interested-out-of-town students should contact us regarding limited host family housing. Some students combine family vacation time with the intensive, as our program is designed to provide world-class dance training at a relaxing pace in smaller class sizes, and takes place just minutes from the beautiful, sandy beaches of Lake Huron. Numerous lodging choices are available in Oscoda, including cozy cabins on the nearby beaches and friendly local hotels. For more information on housing and local attractions, please visit www.oscoda.com.

Summer intensive enrollment is limited. Admission is at the director's invitation/discretion. Interested students should contact Mr. Giuseppe Canale or Mr. Scott Heinrich at (989) 739-7955 or email us to inquire about our Summer Intensive.
